This blog is about the threat to humans and human civilization from the environmental misuse which grows greater every day.

This blog is about the art of landscape photography
This blog is about our National Parks
This blog is about our Wilderness Areas
All of the above images are very much a part of the beauty of our endangered earth. This is the main thing this blog is about.
This website is about the American earth and where it may be heading. I’ve been taking these photographs since the early 1970s. Most of the places seen in this blog are still pretty much as they were when I took the pictures. At least on the surface. Below the surface things are unfortunately changing: millions of species are going extinct, the atmosphere is steadily warming, the oceans are warming, climate zones are moving northwards, industrial toxins are building everywhere and in some of the warmer areas a kind of scorched earth devoid of much life is emerging .
There is still hope though. There is still a chance that some of the places pictured in these pages will survive to be loved by our children and grandchildren and our great grandchildren. And maybe, if we are very, very lucky some of them will be seen by at least some of our ancestors.
The Center for Biological Diversity is fighting hard to save what is left of our beautiful endangered earth.
